AMDV is a tool used to enable channel partners and sales agents to sell upgrades using accurate information about the current assets belonging to a customer, their components, and their entitlements. It provides a detailed view of Dell’s highly complex ISG products that installed in a customer’s site. This visibility enables users to review existing ISG solutions in order to determine what upgrades are feasible. It aims become a one stop solution gathering and incorporating insights from other tools used by our users to be more efficient and helpful.

One of the main problems we discovered from our earlier user interviews was that people considered extracting information from AMDV to be an arduous process. We thus sought to identify the most practical approach and user-friendly interface for facilitating data extraction.
We used a Miro board and teams meetings to gather and document information. We had also created some temporary designs to help users visualize the designs so we can gather accurate thoughts to improvise the final designs.
We talked to 11 users over 10 sessions to gather insights regarding AMDV. It was essential to gather information from all the different kinds of personas as each gather different informations to conduct their daily tasks.
This feature increased the user efficiency. They save about 2-3 hours on an average of their work, enabling them to prioritize other tasks. They find the design very simple and informative with easy navigation. They find the download notifications really helpful as they are aware of which files have been downloaded. The files download within 15-20 seconds.
Some of the improvements mentioned by the users:
1. If the downloaded files have a clickable link which will directly open the excel files on the laptop would be helpful.
Show a history of the downloaded files on the website with clickable links to open directly on the laptop.
